| Dear Fellow Racer: Motorcycle Dirt Track Racing is experiencing a level of excitement and growth of rider participation that hasn't been seen since the early 70's. Not only are young riders taking to the track to prove their skills, but an insurmountable number of riders from yesteryear are returning to participate in one of the greatest American sports ever. The days of living in your van and following the fair circuit are long behind us. | |
|
Today's racers are professionals and business owners with a burning desire to
exercise their technical skills and experience for the thrill of competition.
The technological advancements are obvious by the level of equipment competing,
but the flavor of yesteryear is still apparent in the vintage machines.
We have formulated a program designed to introduce many spectators to this age-old
sport for the very first time. The nature of our fast paced and exciting events
has made them diehard race fans and has given our sport an almost cult like
following. Many first time race fans immediately became regulars and encourage
others to witness these exciting events. This trend has led to a steady increase
of both rider and spectator participation. Although the past three seasons would
be hard to improve upon, we wouldn't do justice to the Association or fans if
we weren't constantly looking to make improvements.
The NFTRA is a dedicated supporter of The American Motorcyclist Association
and will sanction all of our events through what is known as the largest organized
motorcycling association in the world. In addition, we have added more youth racing
to this years events and will continue to support a unique class
called Trophy 375 targeted at reviving many overlooked racing machines of yesteryear.
This affordable class of racing is ideal for entry level riders but holds a
special place in the hearts of race fans from some 30 years ago. The NFTRA is
careful to ensure that our series is achievable and fair to all competitors,
profitable to advertisers and promoters, and an exciting form of entertainment
to spectators and fans. Our racing programs are suitable for all members of
the family and it may be hard to tell who enjoys it more, your children or your
dad. | |
| NFTRA and AMA membership applications are available at all of our events or you can request applications by calling 316-943-6929 or email us at STARACER97@aol.com. All persons competing in 2008 NFTRA events must be an AMA member in good standing. The AMA has many member benefits including hundreds of events, a monthly magazine, protecting the rights of motorcyclists and providing reasonably priced medical insurance for participants. Be sure to learn about and take advantage of all of the available AMA benefits. | |
| Whether a racer or a fan, we would like to welcome you to the NFTRA and we look
forward to seeing you at many of our events this season. |
